Professor of Internal Medicine at Università degli Studi di Milano. He has been Post-Doctoral Fellow at McMaster University, Hamilton (Ontario), Guest and Visiting Scientist at McMaster University, Temple University, Philadelphia (PA), The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla (CA). In 2001 he was awarded the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) 10th Biennial Award for Contributions to Haemostasis and Thrombosis. Editor/Associate Editor/member of Editorial Board/Advisory Board for high-tier journals, including Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, Thrombosis Research, Haematologica, Platelets, Thrombosis and Haemostasis, Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology. Chair of the Working Party on Platelet Aggregation, Chair of the Scientific Subcommittee on Platelet Physiology, Scientific and Standardization Committee (ISTH). Member of the ISTH Council 2010-2016. President-Elect, President and Past-President of SISET, the Italian Society on thrombosis and hemostasis, 2002-2008. Member of the Thrombosis Working Group Nucleus of the European Society of Cardiology, 2010-2016. Chairman of the Eurthombosis Summit, 2015. Co-Chiarman of the  XXXVII Congress of ISTH, 2020. Main research interests: pathophysiology of primary hemostasis, pharmacology of antiplatelet agents, risk factors for thromboembolism. Author of 420 original publications, with an H-index of 76 (Scopus).

Gili Kennet

Director of the Israel National Hemophilia Center and Thrombosis Institute, Sheba Medical Center and head of Amalia Biron Research Institute of Thrombosis and Hemostasis, Tel Aviv University. She also serves as director of the international PedNet Research Foundation.

Gili Kenet is a Pediatric Hematologist, Professor and former Chair of the Hematology Department at Tel Aviv University. Her research projects have been focused on neonatal hemostasis, research of new therapy modes applied for people with hemophilia and severe bleeding disorders. Prof. Kenet pioneered in gene therapy clinical trials and novel non replacement Hemophilia therapies. She was awarded grants for pediatric hematology research, study of rFVIIa mode of action, epidemiology of inhibitor evolution, personalized tailoring of hemophilia therapy by application of global hemostasis assays and recently - gene therapy murine models.

Professor Kenet is the author of over 320 peer reviewed scientific publications, review articles and book chapters, editorial board member of the Haemophilia journal. She is an active member of the WFH, American Society of Hematology, former Chairperson of the Pediatric and Peri-natal Hemostasis Scientific Subcommittee (SSC) of ISTH & co-chair of FVIII/FIX and rare bleeding disorders, member of educational committees of EHA and EMLTD.

She also published one poetry book.

Lina Badimon

Prof. Lina Badimon is the Director of the Cardiovascular Science Program (ICCC) at the Hospital Santa Creu and San Pau, Director of the Cardiovascular Research Chair of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Professor at the National Research Council of Spain (CSIC), and Director of the UNESCO Chair in Biomedical Sciences Training and Research. She is Visiting Professor of Manchester Metropolitan University. Her research activities focus on cardio-metabolic diseases, thrombosis, atherosclerosis and ischemic heart disease. Hrvoje Budincevic, Croatia

Assist. prof. Hrvoje Budincevic, MD, PhD, FEAN, FESO, is a consultant neurologist with a subspecialisation in intensive care medicine and cerebrovascular diseases. He works at the Sveti Duh University Hospital in Zagreb (Croatia), where he is Deputy Head of the Department of Neurology and Head of Stroke and Intensive Care Unit.  He earned his Ph.D. degree in 2014 with the thesis: Impact of Anticoagulant Therapy on the Outcome in Ischemic Stroke Patients with Atrial Fibrillation. In 2018, he became an assistant professor of neurology at the University of Osijek. In 2017, he became a Fellow of the European Stroke Organisation (ESO); in 2020, he became a Fellow of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN). He is one of the course directors of the traditional Summer Stroke School in Dubrovnik (www.croatianstrokesociety.org).

Gregor Tratar is a specialist of internal medicine and of cardiology with vascular medicine. He is currently the head of the outpatient VTE department at the University Medical Centre Ljubljana. He is also an assistant professor at the Department of Internal Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ljubljana. His research work is focused on fibrinolysis, anticoagulant treatment and management of patients with VTE.

Luciana Ricca Gonçalves

Obtained her M.D. degree in Medicine in Oporto University, Portugal, in 1987.

She did her residency in Imuno-hemotherapy at the Department of Transfusion Medicine and Centre of Thrombosis and Hemostasis, at Centro Hospitalar Universitário São João (CHUSJ) in Oporto (1990-1995).

At present, she is a graduate specialist working at the Department of Transfusion Medicine and Centre of Thrombosis and Hemostasis, at CHUSJ. She is the coordinator of the Apheresis and Cryobiology Unit in CHUSJ since 1996.

Since her graduation, she has always been interested in the field of ​​thrombosis and hemostasis, in particular the pathophysiology of thrombosis and antithrombotic therapies, which is reflected in her daily work and scientific activity.

Since 2006, she is co-responsible for the Thrombophilia Unit at CHUSJ.

She is member of the Multidisciplinary Working Group for the Prevention of Thromboembolic Disease.

Co-founder and president of the Portuguese Association of Thrombosis and Hemostasis (APTH).

Author e co-author of scientific papers and book chapters.

Reviewer of several medical journals.

Member of the Scientific Committee of the journal” Acta Médica Portuguesa”.

Since October 2023, President of the Section of Immuno-hemotherapy of the Portuguese Medical Association.
